Kath Hutton

Co-opted Governor

Elected as a Governor in September 2016, my connection to the school dates from 2006-2008 when my daughter attended the school for Key Stage 1. During that period I was also Chair of the PTFA and very involved in the life of the school.

I am a Royal Navy veteran of 20 years’ service with management experience across the full spectrum of Navy training and education, including the delivery of Maths and English skills. After retiring from the Navy I worked as a Maths tutor and cover teacher for a few years before taking up my current post as the manager of a local veterans’ charity. My husband is still serving and I am an active member of the service families’ community. I was asked to join the Governing Board to represent the military community and bring my extensive experience to the board. I am the Safeguarding governor and Chair of the Resources Committee. I am delighted to be a part of Southsea Infants and to find it as thriving a community as it ever was.
