Assemblies

Assemblies

At Southsea Infants assemblies (collective worship) are an important part of our school day. They provide an opportunity  for us to come together either as a  whole school, year group or class.

Our assemblies are carefully planned to be age-appropriate, engaging, and interactive and focus on:

  • Exploring Values: In Our assemblies we bring our School Values and Fundamental British Values to life. We believe that by exploring these "big ideas", we help our children grow into thoughtful, respectful, and active citizens.

  • Cultural & Religious Awareness: As a maintained school, our assemblies are of a broadly Christian character while remaining inclusive and respectful of all faiths and worldviews represented in our community.

  • Singing and Joy: Music is an important huge part of our assemblies and children have the opportunity to listen to music and to sing together.

  • Celebrating Success: Our weekly "Celebration Assembly" is a highlight, where we recognise the children's successes in and out of school.

In accordance with the Education Reform Act 1988, parents and carers have the right to withdraw their children from all or part of Collective Worship (Assemblies).

If you wish to discuss withdrawing your child, please contact the Headteacher.
